Anangu Dot Painting | Aboriginese Art Live Virtual Experience
For thousands of years, Anangu have passed down their knowledge from generation to generation.
Dot Painting Virtual Experience
For thousands of years, Anangu have passed down their knowledge from generation to generation, to keep the land, their culture and their people strong. Through Maruku’s virtual workshops our artists would like to share a part of their culture with you, so you can learn about and create something and show your family.
HOW IT WORKS:
Schedule a time for your live experience, add it to your cart, and check out when you're ready.
Celebrate! You just committed to learning something completely new.
When it comes time for your virtual experience, sit back and relax. We’ll send you a quick reminder and direct link to the live event
Anangu Traditions & Dot Painting
“We the Anangu are the descendants of the traditional inhabitants of the lands of central Australia. We are driven by our desire to preserve and pass on our cultural knowledge through our art. Our traditions have sustained our cultural, social, spiritual and economic life over hundreds of generations.”
— Nellie Patterson
Aboriginal Culture Experience
The course does not enable you to do Dot-painting on a professional level, but is an experience to understand Aboriginal paintings and culture better. Our Dot-painting workshop is guided by a local Anangu artist and interpreter.
Interactive Virtual Dot Painting
You will learn about ancient symbols used in Anangu art and teachings and have the chance to ask question of the artist. View the artist live as they create a masterpiece. You can follow the instructions and create your own painting and share your own story.
